Dear friends,

let me inform you about some news:



- on the website you can download logo of the championship, please don ´t use it for commercial purpose



We would like to offer you two possibilities for practice:



- on Thursday May 8th will be organised at Květoňov lake (Sector IV) open competition called May Cup, it will be last possibility for practice and you can face people from Czech team, competition has similar schedule like championship, only takes part whole day, everybody will fish all four sites of the lake, if somebody would like to attend, I have to know it by the end of January 2014 as the competition is always full and number of competitors is limited. After competition, it will be possible to practice till Sunday May 11th, next is lake closed for all teams members.



- my friend Tim from Team Australia, who attended with team Australia the workshop which we organise with my friends (www.milanhladik.cz) before WFFCH in Norway 2007, asked me to organise for them a similar preparation camp in the same schedule like the workshop. They also would like to share this camp with other teams. The date is May 12th - May 18th. We decided to offer also second date May 19th - May 24th. Capacity of the hotel is three teams. If you would like to find new friends, improve your fly-fishing skills and local knowledge accompanied by the best Czech fly-fishermen, you can attend. For serious candidates I will send more info.

La Adunarea Generala a F.R.P.M.A. am stabilit modul de formare a echipelor nationale.

In ordinea clasamentului, cei care isi manifesta interesul pentru a merge la Campionatul Mondial din Cehia 2014:
- vor depune un avans de 200 euro pana in data 15 ianuarie 2014, suma pe care o va pierde in cazul in care renunta la participare (nu pierde aceasta suma daca nu sunt 5 doritori de a participa la Campionatul Mondial);
- vor depune alti 400 euro pana la data de 15 februarie 2014 (suma pe care nu o vor pierde); cine nu depune cei 400 euro pana in 15 februarie 2014 pierd dreptul de participare si li se cauta inlocuitor conform clasamentului;
- vor depune restul taxei de participare pana la data de 15 martie; cei care nu depun aceasta suma la termen isi pierd locul in echipa, li se returneaza cei 400 euro din transa a doua si li se cauta inlocuitor in ordinea clasamentui;
- la 31 martie 2014 se face plata pentru participarea echipei Romaniei la Campionatul Mondial 2014.

Capitanul va fi ales de echipa dintre doua propuneri facute de Comisia de Competitii a FRPMA, in cazul in care nu este capitan nejucator.

Pentru mondialele din Cehia si europenele din Suedia, am contactat posibilii candidati.
In tabelul de mai jos am inserat clasamentul (fara si cu finala – sper sa aflam deznodamantul cat de curand) si in dreptul fiecarui muscar am trecut sinteza discutiei telefonice pe care am avut-o astazi.

''Definition of a fly line – for tournament angling purposes:
A fly line is any core material fully encapsulated by a secondary coating, with enough weight and ability to transfer energy to propel leader and fly/flies. The first part is easy to define, but the second part falls into the gray area where anglers can achieve an advantage by pushing the limit of having a thinner/lighter product. A taper isn’t necessary to achieve this if the line has proper mass to transfer energy, so taper shouldn’t be a requirement. Therefore, the most effective way to create a standard is by weight. Using a standard like the AFTMA 30’ weight point as the measuring stick presents a problem, as the majority of tournament anglers use leaders near the maximum length, and often the fly line that is effectively being used would be the first 5-15 feet. A manufacturer could circumvent a weight standard at 30 feet by loading the rear end of the taper with diameter/weight, leaving the tip section too thin to be considered a fly line and to transfer energy to a leader – allowing the flies to be fished as if only monofilament leader was used. The ideal method would be to choose a length that is commonly going to be exposed from the reel while fishing in tournament conditions as the standard, and apply a certain minimum weight that this length must exceed to be considered a true fly line. The thinnest and lightest coated diameter that Cortland Line considers to be a fly line is .026’’ or .66mm. This coated diameter carries a weight of 1 gram / 3.3 meters. We believe this could be a fair standard, allowing for lines to be level or tapered while still maintaining enough weight and energy transfer to maintain a sense of fly fishing. For comparison, the smallest diameter Cortland Line considers to be a fly line type product is .022’’/.55mm coated fly line, which carries a weight of 1 gram/4 meters"
